AUSTIN REED IS PUMPED TO RACE CORR AT LANCASTER

COTO DE CAZA, California -- Austin Reed, driver of the #14 Ringers Gloves, Approved Memory Trophy Kart is pumped for this weekends CORR Series race taking place at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, California.

He has been racing in the M4SX series in preparation for his debut in the CORR Series. Austin comments on the upcoming event, “We have made some major adjustments to the Kart to make it faster and to get me up to speed. We have also done some testing to try and learn as much as we can before I entered my first CORR race.” There is a lot of competition in this popular series as is evident by an imposed limit of 75 Karts for entry this weekend.

Austin hopes to run well and finish. “A top 5 would be great but to get seat time and learn as much as I can is the main goal for this weekend. After getting a little aggressive and taking myself out of the chase in the first lap of my last race, I learned that although I had a great start it is just as important to be smooth through the first turn to avoid the pile up.”

Austin is racing in the Junior 2 Class with a range of 13 to 17 year old drivers. He will practice and qualify on Friday with event races running on Saturday and Sunday. Austin, whose birthday is Monday, is hoping to give himself an early gift of a top five finish.

Trophy Karts are smaller versions of the Trophy Trucks and have a Subaru 15 horsepower spec motor. Austin's Kart is prepared by DeJong Off-Road in Temecula, CA and is a teammate to Mitchell DeJong who is second in points for the Junior 1 Class. Austin Reed is the son of Dave Reed, former NASCAR championship car owner in the Southwest series. For more information please contact Dave Reed dreed@approvedmemory.com
